Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area and Firehole Canyon Campground

The Firehole Canyon Campground is located on the northeasten shore of the Flaming Gorge Reservoir. We took hwy 191 from Rock Springs, Wyoming about 19 miles to hwy 106 west and drove about 10 miles to get to the campground.  The campground is located in the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area.
Here is a fast motion video of the drive on hwy 106 to the campground and the Green River

Drive to Firehole Canyon Campground

It was beautiful site to see and I just couldn't seem to put my camera down.

We drove thru the campground and each campsite had a cabana, picnic table, and a campfire ring. The views from the campsites were amazing.

We found a road that took us down to the water
The river was perfect for launching kayaks and even taking a swim but we decided to explore more of the area.
We saw this road and decided to see what was there. The road was dirt and very steep in some places.  We talked about the fact that we could not get our RV down such a steep road and then we saw two campers parked by the water.
The mountains and Green River make for a great view.

We enjoyed our drive to Firehole Canyon Campground and the Green River.

We hope you enjoyed us sharing our day with you.
