Some Thoughts on RVing

You Don't Have to Be Rich to Travel

You don't have to be rich to travel in an RV. In fact, in our travels we have met people that travel in large Class A motorhomes and people that travel with tents.  One thing they all have in common is the love to travel and to see America.

When we first starting traveling in our RV we stayed at privately owned campgrounds such as KOA and Yogi Bear Parks.  These offer great activities for children but comes with a price. Then we discovered a better way to camp with larger campsites, spectacular views, and very little money. It is easy to find camping spots for as little as eight dollars a night and sometimes free. With a National Park senior pass (people 62 and older qualify) you receive half off camping at National Parks, Corp of Engineer Parks, and many government maintained parks. Even if you do not qualify for discounts the prices at these parks are well below the price of most privately owned parks.  Some of these parks include electric, water, and provide a dump station. If you want to watch TV then you will have to depend on your outside antenna.  Free campsites are generally located in BLM (Bureau of Land Management) and National Forest. Very seldom do they have any type of hookups but most offer a beautiful view.

A benefit to RV traveling or camping can be to your health. Leaving the stress of work and everyday life just for a few days a week can be very beneficial to your body and soul.  Camping inspires people to exercise. Most RVers  and campers are out walking the trails, riding bikes, kayaking, and visiting other campers. Camping promotes meditation. Sometimes just sitting in a chair outside and enjoying the beauty of nature can be mental therapy.

So crank up your motorhome, hook up your travel trailer, or throw your tent in the trunk of your car and set out on an adventure.  Live and enjoy life in the great outdoors.

Wishing For a Beach House
Have you ever wished for a place on the beach, or your own private spot on the lake, and when it gets too hot you wished for a mountain retreat?  Have you dreamed of doing this if you could just win the lottery? Well we have a place on the beach, a spot on the lake, and when it gets too hot we have a place in mountains and we are no where near rich and we have not won the lottery.

Buy yourself an RV or a tent and the world is your oyster (I think that is a saying)

  2. I'm so excited to have found your blog. My husband and I have big plans for RVing as soon as he can retire. Plans now are to buy a fifth wheel. Are you retired and live in your RV or just take trips?
